We've fallen behind in helping each other with book reviews ( http://extra.dev-archive.com/default.asp) . As such, we need to get a few more posted! If you've read a computer book recently, then take a few minutes to share with your fellow code gurus your thoughts on that book. We've...
One thing I have noticed since we updated the forum software is that the control panel refreshes itself after a certain amount of time. Is this the update or just my imagination? Also, at what interval is this refresh?

Is there something that can be done about those recent red and blue NetBeans 5.0 square advertisments? These things are extremely CPU intensive. They use 100% of my CPU. I know it's not a recent CPU (Atlhon thunderbird 1GHz), but nevertheless, advertisments should not consume that much CPU even...

Hi, I've been having some serious issues with dev-archive lately. I'm running Mozilla Firefox 1.5, and for some reason those flash ads keep on crashing my browser leaving me with an illegal operation message. Flash runs fine elsewere. Really hope it gets looked into. This site is a great r...
Does the advance search for forums/threads not search for the text between the [CODE] tags? I tried searching for some of them and it returns no results. I am wondering if the search is not working or if I am putting a non-matching text. Is it case-sensitive? Regards.
If you look at my profile, it says I have posted 1,625 times. Yet...if you select Find all posts by peejavery ( http://www.dev-archive.com/forum/search.php?searchid=1367111), you will get 1656 results. Why is this?

Is it possible to have additional rating system on CG of a user? Perhaps a point system for Masochistic behavior of a member and Sadistic behavior? We would all know where the other members stand. ;) :D <br/>ahoodin
The forums have been glitching a lot on me lately. This started happening right about the time of the forum software upgrade.

Is it possible to see somewhere my rep points given to others?Since sometimes I have to "spread out" points and/or I'm limited to some points by day,so that would be nice to see somewhere that info (the same way I see points received). Otherwise I'm forced to overload my memory by remember...
In this past week I've noticed a few "offenders", biting the hands that feed them in a sense.<br/>I just want to:<br/>firstly complain about them<br/>and secondly<br/>know what can be done to them.
I have seen an increase in users posting code and asking for ratings because they believe their code is good. To me this seems like an attempt to show off rather than help or seek help. This is not the purpose of dev-archive.Do you, Brad or Andreas, this it would be a good idea to have a forum for u...

It's common sense to do a search of an issue before posting a question to a forum, and that's suggested in the "Before you post" section. But I have a suggestion; It would be great if your system automatically did a parsing/evaluation of a person's post right at the point where they s...

I think that there are too many adverts in code guru.
