windows 2000 question - thanks

Before installing the Windows 2000, I was using Windows 98 and having a workgroup as a LAN. I am using coaxial cable for the networking.

I just installed Windows 2000 server and tried to map the drive to another computer so that I can read and write the files on other computer. But I could not make it. Please tell me how to do it. thanks.

What error message do you get?
-Is the drive of the NT machine shared?
-Is the guest account on the NT machine enabled?

Try connecting to \\main\c

thanks again for your help.

it worked when try "\\main\c" (main is the computer name of the server)

But I still couldn't connect other pc.

Another thing I found was "main" (server computer's name) is not in the workgroup (name of workgroup) at Entire Network (I could not see an icon of it). But when I use search utility to search computer name, it found it in workgroup. I really don't know what was wrong. Please help me out.

Thanks

thanks again!

My computer A (c drive) and computer B (c drive) are shared. computer A is windows 2000 and computer B is windows 98. The workgroup name for these two computers is "workgroup". I am using coaxial cable for the connection. If I boot computer A with windows 98, it is ok, that is, I can map drive. But failed in booting computer A with windows 2000.

Problems:

When I tried to map drive using "\\main\c$" ('main' is the computer name of computer A), it's ok. But when I tried to map drive using "\\desk\c" ('desk' is the computer name of computer B), I got error msg saying "network ... not found". I also could not map drive from Computer B to Computer A. I checked Entire Network in computer B, I can see it is in workgroup, but not the icon of computer A ( the server). I also check Entire Network in Computer A, I could not see the icon of computer A and computer B in workgroup. I think the configuration of server, computer A, has some problems. But I don't know how to do it in order to connect these two computers. Please help me out.

Thanks
