Something I've been looking for, and which may exist somewhere as a document or better still a database:

A tabular summary of application software on the market, categorized by type (Accounting, CRM, Word Processing, Graphics etc.) with basic details of how it can be interoperated with i.e.

Name, Manufacturer, Type, OS Platform, ActiveX support, Published API, DDE Support, Database Engine.

If anyone knows where this info can be found, please let me know!
