Typical workday

In the morning briefing with the test group this person collects information about the bugs and problems that have been found over the past 24 hours. After evaluating if his/her involvement is needed to resolve them, he/she will resume working on the task that was previously assigned. Problem solving, however, always overrides the pre-planned activities, as there could be a client down due to the problems. He/she attends design and review meetings, brings own ideas onto the table. Takes pride of the delivered work and will try to test it as much as possible using unit tests and other integration tests, before delivering it to the test group. This person is willing to explore all individual subsystems within our product in order to gain an overall understanding that will benefit both the team and himself/herself. Our company is dedicated to provide the training necessary to perform the job and this person should take advantage of this offer by seeking out and attending training classes in related fields.

Essential skills

Experienced C++ programmer (at least 5 years). Multi threaded programming required
Involvement in complex projects that required both architecture/design as well as long term support of the product (Bug fixes, supporting the release effort, and customer requests).
Taking ownership of the assignment and work with the rest of the team to deliver the best product possible
Independent problem solver requiring minimum supervision
Capable of evaluating consequences of current implementation decisions
Should have a sense of prioritizing and focus on the real problems
Must be Windows guru

Preferred skills

Windows user interface programming experience (MFC and/or C#) or
Unix or embedded operating system experience
TCP/IP
SQL
Experience in designing and building Map application (X,Y coordinate system based, multiple objects over a Arial photograph type application, similar to a GPS Map) would be extremely useful skill for us.
