Right to delete own unnecessary threads
Some times user(programmer, who is using this site) may post some threads and those are not necessary to maintain. User may feel to delete that. But it is not possible, as these posts are maintained by Moderators and Site Manager.
Would it sense that user can have right to delete his own posts?

A user should be able to delete their own posts.
This is done by selecting the edit button at the end of the message (not the thread, but the message). The edit screen will include a checkbox and button for deleting.
I'll verify that this is still true.

Selective permission :) ? I just edited one of my post a few hours ago -- and it worked. Have not tried delete though for nearly 4 months.
Edit: And here's another test.

I tested this in the Testing area and was able to both edit and delete a posting (using my non-admin/non-moderator account). You should be able to do the same to your own posts by selecting the edit button on the bottom right portion of the screen.
I did not test this in other forum areas; however, they should all be set up the same.

Narayana: To delete your own thread, click 'edit' of your first post in your thread. Then check the box to delete, then click delete.
Try it in the 'Testing Area' first.

You have two IDs I understand. You can only edit the post of somebody with a specific ID when you are logged in with that specific ID.

Be aware that if you delete the first message in a thread, you also delete the thread. If there are a number of messages already in the thread, then you should simply edit your message and delete most of the body.
