Problems with the forum

Am I the only one having problems with the forums?

My regular userid "Sam Hobbs" has not been working for more than 24 hours. Anything I try doing using it, whether it is posting to the forums or sending private messages, cannot be done because I am not logged in. I try logging in but my profile is not there and I still cannot do anything. This began more than 24 hours ago.

Hi Sam,

I have contributed at least 4 posts and read several during the last 48 hours. I don't have problem with my account.

Are you not banned :D :D ?

Are you not banned :D :D ? [/B]Of course asking people having problems to post a message is like asking for anyone not present in class to raise their hand.

Yeah, maybe I'm banned but I got no warning of it. :D :D :D

Or maybe a hacker resents that my (main userid's) total count of posts for these forums is the higest of all. :p

If anyone else is unable to post in the forums, you may email me at: SimpleSamples (Sam@cpp.AtFreeWeb.com).

I don't know what caused the problem but logging out and back in seems to have fixed it. Probably my cookies got messed up somehow but I am not aware of anything I did to cause that. Perhaps there were temporary problems yesterday with the forum software that messed up the cookies.

My other userid (SimpleSamples) encountered the same problem I was having with this one so that is why I tried logging out.

Sam,

I didn't notice any problem with the forum sw yesterday. My guess is that the problem was your computer. One of my machines also has the problem that it messes up threads that contain the string "++-" in the title -- no idea why.

If your problem persists after removing the cookies and logging in again (i.e. you suspect a problem with the CG database), I'd suggest dropping a mail to Brad.

Since I am not aware of any problem with my computer, my guess is that it was the dev-archive software somehow. We will probably never know though.

I did send a message to webmaster@dev-archive.com but I never got a reply. So just before creating this thread I sent Brad a private message.

Actually right around the time of your posts I did notice some really strange time problems with dev-archive (it was saying people posted several hours differently than they did and the current time was off too). But I had just reinstalled my OS, and thought something had gone buggy there, and it went away (for no real reason?) so I ignored it. But yesterday and today I have seen some weird behavior where going to the general forums section shows old posts but not new one as the most recent posts (but going inside a specific forum showed there had been several posts, even minutes or hours prior). Maybe there has been some recoding somewhere, since I never encountered this before? (Or it could always be a virus that my scanner is missing... :))

Yes I think there was at least one time (during the time I was unable to post) that there seemed to have been no posts for about 10 hours. That might also have been a problem with the time.
