Kinda interested. I guess. I mean, I really do see Brads point, I think alot of the questions will be asked/are asked in the relevant forums for the lanquages. Alot of the Questions asked in the C++ forums would be a Platform SDK question...the SDK covers so many different technologies...
But I also see Sam's point. Had he asked the WMI question in the C++ forum I could have answered, I only check the general programming forum every once in awhile because of it's rare use.
So give me a iffy vote on adding it ;)

As a relative newcomer to these forums, my $0.02:
It seems to me there are enough forums already. Some of them don't see all that much traffic. The VC++ forum seems to attract the bulk of posts, even threads that might be better fits in "C++ & Winapi" or the pure C++ forum. I have a feeling that even with a new forum, it would tend to get under-used.
# 3 Re: Is there more interest in a Platform SDK Forum
What exactly is the difference between an SDK forum's topic and the "C++ and WinAPI" forum? Maybe if the c++ was taken out of the current forum's title, that might make it general enough to answer more generally questions on the functions exposed by Windows system dlls and their relationship and use across languages. But I really don't see much that an SDK forum would add...

The VC forum is probaably the only one that gets a large volume; about 6 pages (I don't know how many per page; I think 20) per week day. There are some (such as the "Directory Services" forum in the "Windows 2000 Central" category) that have not had any activity for about a month. Many of them (such as the "Windows 2000 Central" category forums) could be included in a Platform SDK forum. So instead of adding a forum we could be eliminating a few; kind of the opposite of "instead of losing a daughter we are gaining a son".
As far as there being an abundance of forums, the dev-archive forums would need to add many dozens more to catch up with all the newsgroups that Microsoft provides (see MSDN Newsgroups (http://msdn.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?url=/newsgroups/topic.asp?url=/msdn-files/028/201/015/topic.xml)).

Brad sent me a message asking how I would define a "Platform SDK" forum. I don't know if I answered the question well enough but I replied by saying that it would be for discussing the SDKs downloaded and installed by the SDK download web site and CD (see Platform SDK Update (http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/sdkupdate)). Another definitive web page is the Contents of the Platform SDK (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/sdkintro/sdkintro/contents_of_the_platform_sdk.asp). There could be a forum to discuss all the topics of the Platform SDK listed in the Contents and only those topics. The important thing is that the forum could be used by all programmers regardlous of language and/or compiler. Potential incompatibility of languages would be somewhat of a problem but hopefully not too much.

well i'd like really to give this subject more importance cuz it's realy a new technology that we have to deal with
