Learning Server Technology / Going Nuts
Servlets / JBuilder / Enterprise Java Beans ... etc.
With knowledge and experience with C++ I buy books and milk the internet for info.
Here at home I use a WinNT or Win2000 as servers and Win98 and Linux as clients on
a simple LAN.
But what a battle. I am surprised at the lack of information and the forest of
miss-information out there. Even some of these 50.00 $ books have errors. (e.g.
a two tier system, the picture with three boxes--a three tier system, the picture
with two boxes).
And a web document describes using mod_jk to connect Apache 2.0.39 and Tomcat 3.2
and then the next document with Apache 3.2 in mind and Tomcat 4.0 and the next
document with no version information whatsoever but with the suspicious look
and feel of something from 1996.
And any discussion about networking assumes a Unix/Linux environment.
Is this business as usual or should I take up flower arrangement?
