Uhm...Bcos_seon.!

I ve left my home wandering around here and there together with my big, stupid but handsome brother since I was +++ years old and it was so long long ago...

I use home because I love my parents.
They are not by my side now.
If they were right here with me, my bro would never dare to yell at me even when I made big mistakes...
I miss them because I love them, love them much...
I try to study as much as possible because I want to help them later. They give me a lot of things, materials, encouragement, and especially Me.
I d like to see my mother smile...
I think I must do something because I am afraid that time will not wait for me and my parents willnot either...That s a stupid imagination, right ?

If they stay near here, on this weekend I will go to their house with some flowers and present, when my mother comes out to see me, I will run to her, hold her tight and tell her many times that I miss and love her so much.......True !
I know they do miss and worry about me too.

I dont know if you have any children. If you do, you will know how much you love them and only you can measure your love. I dont have any children but thats what I know from what I see by my eyes and from what I was heard and taught.
Home is where my parents live now. My home is just one of billions of homes in a town...
In that town there is a home and now I know I have a home for my parents, right here...:)

# 15 Re: What Does you CodeGuru NICK means?
galathaea is the name of the place where the galathaeans lived somewhere in the mid-east or balkans, not sure which. Its from the Biblical old world.

There is also the galathaea tower in Istanbul and a suburb named galathaean Palace (Its spelled as Galata Saray in Turkish but its the same thing)

Also, theres the Euro-champion Turkish soccer team named Galata Saray which means galathaean palace. Thats just the short name. Full name is Galathean Palace Soccer Club.

# 21 Re: What Does you CodeGuru NICK means?
I really like an air of mystery, but I also like pushing past an air (hmm... smells like tacos) and asking questions. So I guess it might be fun to explain.

As many probably already know, galathaea is from the greek myth of the sculptor pygmalion. The name is more commonly spelled galatea these days, but the version I use, with its dandyish lisp and pretentious dipthong, is common in older books of mythology.

Although it is common for the mythological galathaea to be studied as an archetype of beauty, I have slightly different reasons for assuming her identity. My screen name and my signature are intimately related. Before I explain the connection, however, it might be a good idea to refer this web site (http://www.galassify.org/cdb/galatea.html), which, although I found it only within the past few months, shares an eerie similarity with my use of the name.

"Magic" in myspeak means something a bit different from normal usage. When I use the word "magic", I mean the manipulation of people. I mean the ability to control groups of people to do particular acts. Hackers call it social engineering. Usually, this involves an amount of fooling people.

It is a strange commonality, but many different social mythologies contain a "prankster" archetype. These types have many different goals, some healthy for the rest of their society and some unhealthy, but they are the foolers, the liars.

Often the term "magic" is applied to a feat that is seen accomplished when it is not understood how to physically accomplish it oneself, like in the familiar quote on how sufficiently more advanced __ (insert tribes, civilisations, alien species, etc.) appear as magic to the referrent of the more. And I have always found it amusing that most of the magicians I have seen in my life are basically just liars. Illusionists, for instance, admit it.

The "sorceresses", "wizards", "shamans", "priests", etc. of many societies have a cloud of suspicions and fears associated with them. This is often because people fear that they can be manipulated by these people. Powerful magicians can control large collections of people. And with power comes the very common "arrogance of the aristocracy", call it a Caligula syndrome, where rulers and tribes leaders have some strange tendency to slip into ruling patterns that stop being beneficial to the rest of society and turn to being harmful, leeching the wealth of the rest of society for their own devices.

But look at it as "convincing people", like a salesperson does. I think there is a reason that there is a strong statistical connection between getting people to do something (like buy a product) and lying. And politicians, the ones with power over democratic societies, actually compete to sell themselves to the largest numbers of people.

So, I connect magic with power over people. And I find it funny that alot of the magic I see around me comes in the form of spells, or strings of words put together, like laws or employment contracts.

I actually see these objects (magicians, politicians, or power sources in general) with various names in tracts on social structure theory, because talking in terms of power sources, with actual human activity as its energy form, posesses some very important structure that makes that particular manifestation of social theory quantifiable yet have a particularly elegant and flexible subtheory space.

Now, galathaea started as an idea. She was the idea of the artist, and many artists claim they find ideas, as opposed to creating them, or that they have "epiphanied" an ideal that is universal, very platonic. And I see galathaea as one of the most brilliant magicians ever. She was able to accomplish something that I admire tremendously. She underwent a metempsychosis of sorts, she transformed from an idea into reality.

And its funny because the myth of galathaea also concentrates on a lie. The idea lied to pygmalion that it was real. She did this so well, she was able to manipulate pygmalion (a man who hated women) enough to bring her flowers and shells, though she wasn't real. The idea convinced Aphrodite to change reality, to make a lie the truth.

Lies are anethema to science. Science does not want reports that are untrue misleading its theories. Science seeks to decrease error and increase the information content of its theories. But the galathaea lie is not always a lie. Ideas do become reality everyday, its what we call industry and art.

Because in the end, thats what is behind magic, everyday people creating sources of influence. The galathaea story is a birth ritual, a genesis point. And my focus is on the magic that is behind the birth.

And that is supposed to sound sexual, because galathaea is very sexual, that is what drove pygmalion in the first place. And this is why, I think, that there have been many traditions of sex magic in particular, because there is this close relationship between the creation event and the manipulation of people. Cities were born when enough competent people were manipulated into building more permanent residences by agricultural rulers and other magicians. Industries are born this way. And human births also require a little "convincing people" along the way.

And with the questions of lies and truth, the sexual tension, and the eventual birth of paphos, I also see the story of galathaea as the coming of age of an idea.

I also lie sometimes, but in particular I lie as a creative act. I write stories, I discover personalities, ... And I identify with the ideas of an artist. That's why I chose the name for all of my online presence (email, newsgroups, etc.). I too want to become real and see an answer in the creative process. And I too am not averse to a little magic along the way.

you know...

i've received a lot of comments about the length of my posts lately...

the funny thing is, i have several thousands of pages of notes on the mythology i am creating about galathaea and her lover...

that was probably the shortest I could condense things in a way relevant to the thread...

maybe i should just start posting pieces from my book of poetry...

some of that, at least, is short (well, kind of...)

its a good thing i'm not the type to get concerned or change my habits around others impressions, because i've also been reading a lot of responses about the general incomprehensibility of some of my posts, and that kind of thing could lead a more timid person to flee...

but i'm too self-involved to take myself away from you girls and guys...

# 44 Re: What Does you CodeGuru NICK means?
The article is still coming. In fact, I just finished the first quarter of it the two days ago. Unfortunately, though, the entire article probably wont be completed until middle to end of January, as I have recently been forced to take a lot of time posting my resume to everyone willing to listen (and I had to update it a bit before hand) and concurrently continue cranking out the code for my current job (they refuse to admit their lies no matter how hard I push the issues...). But I have a lot of the basic structure of the article ready and many of the pieces. I just wanted to make it an in-depth article that really explores the decisions surrounding serialisation frameworks in particular and object frameworks in general and explain in detail the workings of the solution I explored in the thread in my signature along with alternate solutions that may be possible in the future with added language capabilities (such as the metacode experiment being done with the EDG front-end which may become a language proposal for c++0x). What I want the article to be is a clarion for metaprogramming proposals to add to c++, because some of the topics I discuss in the thread (serialisation, lambda facilities, etc.) are still not fully automatable inside the c++ type-safe system.
