Icon for application?
This basic question has been posted a few times on this site, without a satisfactory answer, so I'm asking it again:
How do I get a custom icon for my application to show in the filemanager listing? How is this done in an MFC app?
In my case, I'm writing an MFC app, whose default icons I've modified (both the 16x16 and the 32x32). But the application always shows up in the filemanager with the original icon.
And while I'm on this topic: The start menu for PocketPC 2003 has a sort of 'most recently used' list of programs. But my application never shows up there. How is this controlled?

# 1 Re: Icon for application?
I finally found my answers and thought I would share them here.
First off, to get my icon to show up properly, I had to delete my program from the PPC, perform a hard reset and then copy my application back to the PPC. My icon then showed in the file manager display. Evidently the PPC is caching the icons, although I can't imagine why you might do that on a limited memory device like this.
Also, in performing the above operation, I moved my program to a
subdirectory of \Program Files and made a shortcut in the \windows\start menu\programs directory. After I did all of the above, and ran my program from the start menu, the program icon showed up in that "most recently used" program icon list (the list at the top of the start menu).
Hope this helps others...
