i m using xp pro at home;

i did some registry things into it.

the good news is that i managed to do most of the things that i wanted to;
eg. i changed the licence inf;
i changed the tooltips for system folders etc.
and all these changes were being shownn on the desktop.

the only problem is thatthese changes remian in effercr only for the current session.

every time i log off and shut down my system and then restart the system i find that the modificatins have been undone and the orignal registry has been put back.

may be this is hapeing due to the scanreg.exe service of the OS.

i wanna know is there ne trick that will allow me to make the registry changes valid ones so that winodws believes that the changes r indeed proper one and so does not restore the registry.
