I have mac address with me . Is there a way to find out the IP address corresponding to this mac address?
Is there any API for that?

You are asking for RARP ( http://www.networksorcery.com/enp/protocol/rarp.htm) functionality.Sorry, it's not available in Windows as far as I know. You can search these forums for "RARP" to verify.
RARP does come as a standard part of the TCP/IP protocol tools in Unix/Linux.
