Simple HTML question

Hi everyone. I was wondering if the html format that is used by ms word to save web pages is supported by any browser in any os. (i have this question because i thing that word writes some xml code in the html page).

not sure if it's 100% protable..
but it's awful anyway..
saving documents in HTML is better using www.openoffice.org

The other option is to choose another file type at 'Save as...' dialog box. I do not know how it is called in English version, but its something like 'plain HTML format' or similar. Just check 'File type' combo at 'Save as...' dialog box.
