Pending Review
How long does the review process take for an article?
Does it take longer if you make changes to the article while the article is pending review?
Will I get email notification when the review is complete?
I submitted my article several days ago, and I notice that there are some new articles posted on the home page which have today's date.
How did these articles get through the review process so quick? :ehh:

A review generally takes less than one week to review and publish an article. I've asked that our reviewers try to turn around an article within a day or two. Some articles may take longer if they are not formatted cleanly or are on a topic less known to our reviewers.
If you make changes while it is pending, it may impact the time because you may pull the article out of the review queue. In general, however, it shouldn't impact the review cycle.
Susan Moore (our edited) should notify you when it is published. Additionally, when it is published, it will be viewable on the main page of the site. If the article needs to be returned for changes, then you will definitely be notified along with information on the issue(s).
The dates you see on the live site for articles is the date the aritcle was published -- not the date it was written or submitted. For example, my article that was published today was actually entered into the system last week. When your article publishes, it will have that day's date.
I know the review process is not as fast as everyone would like; however, the benefit of this is that we have a higher-level quality of articles. While other sites may be claiming to publish more, we are choosing to publish better quality. There are many articles that don't make it through our reviewers because they are of low quality or are plagerized. On most articles returned to authors, comments and suggestions are included for helping to make a good article that reflects well on the writer and on the site.
I hope I answered all of your questions. You can always send an email to submit@dev-archive.com to ask for a status on your article.
One final comment -- To get an article into the queue for review, you must click the button for submitting the post. Simply saving it is not enough to get it into the review queue. We don't know see articles until you submit it. This lets you work on articles over time and submit them when you believe they are aready.

Thanks for the info. I'm not trying to rush anyone, but it's easier to be patient when you have an idea of the time line.
I think it would be a good idea when the user clicks the Submission button, to post some of what you said above.
Something that would give a rough idea to the submitter as to when the article might be posted, and review feedback procedures.
