A long lasting error "needs fixing"

My XP problem.
Whenever I boot and input my password to log in mycomputer, it also says something about NETBIOS*, and that I am unable to change my password. I have never really understood why my system goes crazy like that, since when I has added or wanted to add anything in my NETBIOS anyway...it is only such a crazy error or I am so paranoide due to lack of generalized viewpoints about surroundings especially system engineering related knowledge ?

Thanks in advance

(*) I am now logging in and using this computer, I also don't remember the long message

Go to the properties of your "Local Area Connection," or whatever you have it named. Uncheck NetBios.
