VB6 Package and Deployment error

Well I guess this is about the best Forum to post this...

I've Just recently updated my systems to Win2000 Pro. (From win98) I did complete clean installs on my pc.. Fdisk and all..

I installed VB6 and started using it, No problem...

Now i would like to package my app to deliver to client but i get this error
PDCMDLN.EXE - Unable to locate DLL
The dynamic link library ☺☺☺☺<D$☺%y☺ could not be found in the specified path .............. Has anyone come across this prob and if so. how did you correct it ...

M$ doesn't seem to have any info on this...

Please Help.....

PS. Already installed Win2000 SP4.. Uninstalled VB6 and reinstalled .. No diff.

I also have VB5 installed and its Setup Wizard works 100%.. I Just dont like the setup format...

Thanks

Gremlin..

To be honest GremlinSA, more people would know this in the Visual Basic forum. I am sure some of them might have encountered this. You should ask a moderator to move this thread there.

I do agree with Paul
Just for interest sake, Gremmy, why not consider using INNO setup instead of the P & D Wizard

Have you installed SP6 for Visual Basic. Also are you running the PDWizard from within the VB IDE or are you trying to run it separately.
Does it tell you the name of the DLL that is missing?

Does it tell you the name of the DLL that is missing?SP6 did nothing to fix this

I switched to running the pdwizard from within the IDE <-- here it runs 100% no problems.. :thumb:

Running it seperately, on startup, it tells me that '☺☺☺☺<D$☺%y☺' dll is missing .. i've even searched through the EXE and Dll's for the PDwizard to find reference to '<D$' with no luck.. I suspect a rouge memory reference from within the EXE srews things up a little...
