Suggestion... Add a prominent Register Button

Maybe put it up there on the VB toolbar or something. I had to dig to find a Register link.
Just a suggestion.

Shouldn't this be in some other thread?

maybe, but I came to this forum to ask another question, so I just posted this here as well. I don't know why it prompted your response as you could just forward it to whoever or move it to a proper forum. If I wasn't familiar with VB, I would be clueless what to do to Register. Since I try to design web sites that are user friendly, I thought I would make a suggestion. I think you might be losing some new posters because of this. But I know programmers generally tend not to care about usability or user friendliness.

VB for Visual Basic or VB for VBulletin?...either way, I think you are in a wrong place:)...

there's a Visual Basic forum here...
and a Feedback forum here too...

if this is a suggestion for VBulletin, Feedback forum is the right place...:)

Can I just say that I find that statement quite insulting. I have lost track of the number of fights I've had with project managers to add time on the project to ensure that usability is properly addressed. Too often, management is more concerned with getting it out the door, so they're only bothered with getting something that works in the shortest time - usability is almost invariably the first casualty.

Ah, now I know what you meant and so I could move it to the appropriate sub forum

I'm not sure that a button will do any better than the big block of text that is at the top of the forum if you are not registered. On the main site, if you try to do something that requires being registered, it also gives you a link to registered. Is this text really not enough?

(I think a bigger problems is people realizing they have to activate they registration by clicking on a link in the email that is sent)
