Well, the new Messenger Live is a BETA that is sent out through special invitation. If you have it, MSN must have given you a login.

Do you have a valid PASSPORT account? You can find out by trying to sign in at www.msn.com That requires a PASSPORT account, and when you first load Windows, it asks you if you want to get a PASSPORT account, which you can load to your hotmail/live address. I have mine sign in automatically, and it works in Firefox, also.

Did you associate your address with a new LIVE address? I did that, and since then, I log into the LIVE site for hotmail. Not sure that I like it, but I'm willing to stick it out.

You might try contacting MS for support. It should be free for the beta product, or at least have a newsgroup you can post to.
