Salary: $50,000 to $65,000
Location: Consulting primarily to NoVA and DC w/ occassional travel to Montgomery County

Our client is a small Reston-based firm focused solely on providing infrastructure consulting services and have been doing so successfully since 1987. Due to growth, they are looking to bring on board a skilled Microsoft Senior Network Engineer / Administrator to support their DC Metropolitan clients.

Position Description:

This position is an excellent opportunity for a Network Engineer looking to strengthen their consultancy background and expand their exposure to new technologies. As a consultant, you will provide software/hardware computer consulting for numerous types of commercial clients: business, association, non-profit and corporate clients. You would travel to an average of 2 client sites daily and encounter numerous challenges around various networking technologies, primarily Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, etc. Because it is a consulting role, you'll need to enjoy customer interaction and occassionally explaining technical concepts to non-technical people.

Some of the technical skills that will help you succeed include:

*Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with Microsoft LANs
*MCSE 2000 or greater
*Recent hands-on experience with Windows server (2000, 2003, Exchange 5.5/2000/2003, Small Business Server) and workstation (95/98, ME, 2000, XP) environments is ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED
*Must have proficiency with Active Directory, domain controllers, IP addressing, DNS, VPNs, and remote access.
*Recent experience building and/or migrating/upgrading Windows Server, Exchange Servers, Citrix Metaframe, Windows Terminal Server, Firewalls (e.g. Watchguard, Sonicwall, Netscreen) is highly desired.
*Experience in large network environments with the willingness to also work in small offices
*Truly excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
*Professional attitude and commitment to providing high-quality service
