outlook and virus

recently i used outlook 2000 and got virus problem. please tell me how to block the virus come in. i have tried to block the attachments and also read some articles and tried to add value in registry, but no use.

You can probably look at it over the web, and delete the message that causes the problem.

I guess you don't have any AV software? Most will scan email messages and not allow viruses to be downloaded.

I have norton installed, but when i opened the outlook, the viruses first downloaded, then detected by norton, and it does something. So there is lots of works by doing this. what i want is to block them.

I gave up on Norton last year, and since found that it is not highly rated, by some of the people that I've talked to.

I've been using AVAST! (which is FREE) for about a year, and just renewed the license (again FREE) www.avast.com
