I've always been a Mets fan. I was kinda hoping to see another subway series, but, alas, the Yankees fell apart there...

Detroit, New York, St Louis, etc... Isn't that a bit too little to call it 'world' series?

Well, when it was named the US was the only place to find baseball so it was "The World" as far as the sport was concerned. The 4 teams are the 4 left out of 30 some teams.

I try watching baseball but I never understand the game.. it is too complicated.. you miss the hit you can win or you can lose.. need to do some googling to get the basics right.. :)

Heh. I always thought hockey rules were complicated, till I started watching. Funny, a friend of mine who is really into hockey just couldn't grasp soccer (or football, for our friends across the pond) rules.

PS. Did I say I was a Mets fan?? :D

Baseball is easy to watch and understand. There are only a few basic rules that are in effect for the whole game. There is no time limit, and the game isn't over until someone WINS!

I liked my home team (as I do every year) but, they're out of it.

// Go Midwest - Cards!

Go Tigers!!!!

Series tied 1-1.

All the fuss about the foreign substance on Kenny Rogers hands kind of detracts from it but after the first inning it was gone.

Tom, I must say I was a Tigers fan for 3 years when I was a resident in northern/lower MI...But I have been a fan of the Cards for as long as I can remember...45+years..

Actually, the Cards are my favorite NL team. My grandfather was a rabid Cards fan. If I had to choose a NL team I wanted to win, it would be St. Louis.

Maybe next year.
