I see two very simple solutions:

*Serialized mode. All ideas should be sent by email to topic starter and he/she will post it here.

*We need to elect someone to be peform DPC (distributed posting coordinator) job - editing messages of other members to keep the id sequence nice and growing. Personally vote for exterminator. :D:D

The simplest solution is people edit their post if the sequence is broken.

Tom, I'm not sure about that. Tried proving it, my maths not what it used to be. It helps if we take the absolute value of amazingness, >=0; even in the complex domain it's OK; no problem with primes, infinity is trivial, but whichever way I go the proof breaks down if amazement is allowed to be irrational. Can't prove it either way.

Perhaps I should take logs.
