DSL to T1 Upgrade
Is there anything other then the IP address changes that one would need to take account for when performing a T1 upgrade from a DSL line? i have Small Business Server 2003 SP1 running with ISA Server 2004 SP1 and I believe all that I need to do after the phone company changes the dsl modem to the T1 equiptment is update the DNS settings, router setting, and maybe the ISA security rules to the new IP.
Any suggestions or tips? Can anyone help with creating an upgrade checklist?
Thanks

You're pretty much on-track with that thought process, as you will most likely be using a new subnet for your WAN connection and its supporting services.
Other than that, the main thing you need to be ready for is the kind of connection the service provider is going to leave you with. In most cases, the service provider will terminate the connection with a CSU/DSU, and maybe even a router if it's part of the deal. But sometimes, they will just terminate the connection at the punch block (d-marc), and you will need to provide the CSU/DSU and router yourself.
Make sure you have a couple of x-over cables too, just in case.

Thanks for the link and tip. I have to confirm that they are providing the CSU/DSU or we will be toast if they dont.
I also found this site to help me with any ISA issues I may encounter - http://www.isaserver.org/
ISA is not my strong point. :( This is where I think I will have the most problems.

Yeah, you'll be alright. As far as the ISA server is concerned, just start at the external facing NIC(s) and work your way back through the ISA settings.
The only other issue that is usually overlooked is how to mask your subnet. You usually get more than one IP with a T1, so you need to decide how you want to use them. Take some time to do the route planning and associated math before hand.

I'm not big on networks and all but trying to learn. At this point I dont believe they need the use of more then 1 IP but would be best to plan for the future and prevent headaches.
Good tip on working from the external to the internal. ;)
