Out of sheer curiosity...why would you want to do that?

EDIT: If you had a Mac, you could simply select the grayscale option under Display System Preferences. I love mac.

I spent 10-12 hours a day in front of a TFT monitor. I get tired more quickly in front of a color screen. The colors are more harmfully for human eyes than black and white.

I can't use a mac at the job. And I can't ask an old monochrome monitor because sometimes I need colors :)

uninstall your vga drivers and set the display property to 2 color.
or
check the hue / saturation property in diplay settings.
or
use your monitor's available function.

No. Don't do that. 2 colors does not = monochrome. 2 colors = black and white and NOTHING else. Not even a graytone. Unless you have additional drivers for some Nvidia type card, you really can't do grayscale.

You can edit the current display theme and change the style to Windows Classic and change the theme to something more color agreeable.

The Mac solution was a joke.
