Differences between WSS and MOSS ?

What are the main differences between WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007 ?
I realise that WSS 3.0 is free but there must be strong reasons why a company would pay for MOSS 2007 over the WSS version?
Thanks

There is a complete comparision chart on the Microsoft Office SharePoint System [MOSS] site. The expanded acronym should give you a clue. Most of the colloboration features and mult-sitecollection features as well as enhanced search and security are only available with MOSS.

Found this while researching this topic a bit more:

"MOSS 2007 is the portal system, comparable to Sharepoint Portal Server 2003. It brings a wealth of built-in functionality and interoperability to a company's intranet over and above the functions of WSS."

1/
Does this mean that WSS is not accesibble outside of an intranet system? I believe there is some sort of upgrade that you can add to WSS allowing outside access from, say, a company's clients or partners on different networks?

2/
...or is Sharepoint built completely around domain logons, etc.?

3/
Also, those spreadsheets say there is no Worklfow approval processing in WSS 3.0 whereas I am led to believe tat this is present in the WSS 3.0 version ?

4/
I believe WSS is integarted better with Office 2007. What is the integartion like with Office 2003?
