Doubt with XP + SP2 (DEP)

Hi,
I've read there are some new protections if you install SP2 for XP. One of them is DEP (Data Execution Prevention) which is enabled by OS under /noexecute=<option> param in boot.ini. Does anybody know if this feature could be that doesn't allow to execute some programs.
I'm trying to install UltraEdit editor version 11.00, which I've already installed on other machines without any problem. When I try to install it in a computer which has SP2, it does nothing, but I have no kind of message, and if I take a look at 'task manager' I can watch it in 'process' tab with no execution time (ie, 0). Does anybody know why it can't be installed? Could be because of DEP?
I know there's other good editors, but I'm use to use UltraEdit and have some features I haven't found in any other editor.

Thanks a lot

Yes, Data Execution Prevention is part of SP2. You can get to is by going to the system properties in the Control Panel, or by right-clicking on My Computer and going to Properties. Under the Advanced tab you can click on the Performance button and one of the following tabs will lead you to Data Execution Prevention.

You can read more about it here (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875352).
