Looking for C# newbie(s)

Anyone who is a newbie or somewhat new to C# whether its been a week or a couple months, I'm looking for somebody to learn with. To talk on an instant messenger / email. But only people who are dedicated to learning, not someone who just learned what programming is and says "oh my I want to write the next Microsoft O/S how do I do it?" Get the point?

Anyone who is interested please PM me. Its more fun to learn with someone by your side.

Well you have lots of people of here who are dedicated to learning and helping others. I doubt if someone will give you their emails id's or add you on IM. However, you can always come and post your questions here on dev-archive and there will be lot of people out here who will go out of their way to help you.

To follow up on Shuja Ali's comment - I recommend *against* people giving out IM or email to a member who (at the time of this post) was new to the forum with only 1 counted post. There are too many risks of spam and 'sales' occurring in this situation.

However, feel free to move forward at your own risk.

I would consider creating a "study group" forum -- or something similar if there is a real interest. If a group of four or five people chime in and say they want to learn something new then let me know (in the feedback forum) and we can talk about what would make sense.

Brad!

Brad, that would be really great! It should also lower down the homework questions on the other forums as people can discuss these there with their friends (co-posters) and if they don't find a solution can post to the relevant section. Moreover, people can also hop into those forums to directly answer their queries there itself.

I have a little doubt if that will really happen and be successful, but it is worth a try.

There's no risk in giving out an IM screen name. Ever heard of blocking? And I wouldn't of created this thread to get answers like just use the forum because forums can take forever to get an answer, or I could just talk on an IM and get answers in 2 seconds. I think its funny how so many people worry about giving out an IM screen name. You act like giving it out is going to end up crashing your computer or something.

I'm not criticizing anyone so don't take it that way, just throwing in my 2 cents,ya know?

Except, whatever you post on a pubic forum gets picked up by bots. They recognize email addresses. Too many people have made the mistake of posting, only to be spammed for months to come.

While not the most qualified to "Chime In", I'd like to see something like that. I'd participate in it.

Ok let me take the initiative, I will PM you with my IM details. However, I am going to charge you a nominal amount for helping you out each time. Let me know if this works out for you.:)

I haven't heard anything from marky03 till now. :confused:Sure... He was looking for someone to learn in tandem with (read: mutual gain)... Anyone who is a newbie or somewhat new to C# whether its been a week or a couple months, I'm looking for somebody to learn with...Rather than a service that would cost him money...

Sid, that was meant to be sarcastic comment. To learn mutually I had already suggested to use Forums. But with just one post he is not happy with the response that he is getting in the Forums.
