DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR JOB DESCRIPTION

The organization supports and develops Capacity Management solutions for the engineering operations in a highly complex and changing environment. The organization is responsible for development and on-going enhancements to a Capacity Management Database tool that provides bandwidth analysis and forecasting solutions to ensure network performance.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations

Participate in a fast-paced engineering support organization as a team/technical lead of various databases and application development within the Engineering Operation Team.

Provide technical support and direction for the various software applications utilized by engineering teams.

Participate in the planning and management of database/application projects to remain compliant and to increase productivity across the team and engineering development.

Database Administrator Responsibilities:

*Must be proficient in SQL including knowledge of SQL stored procedures, triggers and user defined functions
*Knowledge of .NET platform and one of the programming languages as VB.NET is desired
*Create, Integrate and maintain all Middleware application required for development, testing and production usage.
* Lead design and development of WEB Base Interface and Middleware Integration.
* Perform the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases.
* Be responsible for advanced replication, performance tuning, data migrations and optimizations.
* WEB Design and Maintenance Responsibilities:
*Provide daily maintenance tasks for web applications.

Create and maintain IIS website configuration and properties. Work with engineering team to design and develop new market applications according to stakeholder requirements. This includes new code development and interface design, using ASP, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML, XML and other web related languages.

*Provide ongoing support for existing ASP, VB, JavaScript, HTML and .NET applications.
*Applications Support Responsibilities:

In conjunction with DBA responsibilities, here are additional application responsibilities:

*Ensure basic access to WEB interfaces for users
*Install/configure/maintain/troubleshoot software engineering applications, compilers and utilities.
*Windows and Database system administration skills.
*Knowledge of enterprise systems management tools and methodologies
* Perform day-to-day engineering applications support activities.
*As required, the candidate may develop low level scripts, tools for day-to-day system administration, automation, performance for capacity monitoring

Specific Knowledge/Skills

* BSCS or equivalent is required
* In-depth knowledge of software architectures, development tools and methodologies
* Statistical analysis/mathematical algorithm programming experience
* Ability to work in Windows application environment
* Software Integration experience
* Good comprehension of project oriented work.
* Will adhere to organizational quality standards, processes and procedures.
