Default settings for editor
About that new members "forget" about using code tags. I think that changing the settings so 'Standard Editor' is default instead of 'Basic Editor' should improve the situation. Maybe I'm to optimistic but getting some toolbar buttons as a newbie at least reveal that there are formatting tags available.
When thinking of it. Isn't the 'Basic Editor' a better choice for an experienced member? I mean, after awhile you type the tags yourself instead of using the toolbar. Maybe the editor combo entries should be reversed?

Now I don't understand... I have never got any quote tags like that unless when selecting quote button of course.
What I ment was to change default for user CP/Edit Options/Miscellaneous Options so when a new member creates a new thread just seconds after joining CG the first editor that he sees is one where there are formatting buttons present.
Second thought, are you suggesting that whenever editor opens (regardless of new thread or reply or whatever) there should be a code tag pair in the edit window? Well, maybe that's a better solution. Hopefully the extra seconds of thinking 'what is this' does the trick.

That is what I was suggesting.
EDIT: I fixed the attached image on my previous post to avoid confusion.

Ok, I guess that's an easy change to do so why not try it.
