Adverts making site unusable (100% CPU)
It gets a bit silly when you can't subscribe to a thread because an animated advert is using nearly 100% of the CPU time.
I had to re-start my browser just to post this thread.

Some of the adverts have caused my browser to crash as well, mostly on my older PC running Windows 98SE (which isn't that much of a surprise). But I have had my XP machine lockup a few times due to ads that wouldn't load or ads that just simply locked up and had ActiveX crash.
On a more suttle note, some of the VS2008 ads are pretty funny.

If you can take a screen shot of the ad with the Task Manager on the screen showing CPU usage, that helps my argument with the sales people in getting the ads changed. Including the source code for the page helps even more. You can post these here in feedback, or email them to Webmaster (at) this site's domain name.
Thanks,
Brad!

So Intel is the culprit after all! Score one for AMD! Just dont take away the Visual Studio ads with the mummy and the fish and the drunken pirate, those never get old
