How the hell is it possible that we exist!? -
Sup dudes,
Something I really don't understand about scientist's belief in god. What are the chances that everything happened -
- Universe was there somehow for ever
- It exploded after for ever
- The Universe expanded without extra space
- The exact positioning needed for life occured(eg Jupiter saves Earth countless times)
- Earth gets hit in just the right areas for the planet's magnetic field which helped defend the planet against many types of space 'items'
- Few 100 million years go and life begins(don't know actual time)
- Random matter comes together in random places to form life(somehow)
What do you lot think? Scientist are crazy or not?
Thanks.

There are a lot of aspects about the universe we have yet to fully understand. Just look at black holes :)
Life came from carbon molecules, and some of the most primitive life forms were no larger than the most microscopic bacteria. These life forms were not intelligent, but simply were attracted to other forms of carbon with which to sustain carbon they had lost.
Its hard to think about how life began exactly, but DNA was formed from many different types of carbon and other elements and it evolved, was built on and perfected over the millions of years of evolution, and eventually came to be what we know today.
I will say I agree with you on the baffling subject of how the universe could be here forever. I mean... it has always baffled me as to how matter could just "exist" and not come from anything. As Ive always know, every molecule in the universe has to be derived from something... Perhaps we should get Stephen Hawking to help us, lol.
The universe expanding and collapsing is plausible however. We may just be the 1000th universe to exist for all we know. Its called the rubber band effect. The universe expands rapidly due to the big bang, then its own inner gravity eventually catches all of the expanding matter and causes it to collapse in on itself again. Right now, we know the universe is expanding. But who knows how long it will continue to expand? It may go on for another 15 billion years, then again, it may last another million before it starts collapsing. Really, to be able to understand such things would be pressing our current knowledge of astro-physics to the edge.
