virtual machines for rent

does it exist an hosting service that lets you have an empty virtual machine, in which you can install the OS and the software you like?

I dont know about hosting services, but one can get a named domain (external IP) and host it himself using Virtual PC Server ( http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/37a1103c-ab09-40af-a0d0-af18cf65d9261033.mspx?mfr=true).

The host (assuming there is one)

Would have to be running an OS (as the virtual machine server software cannot be a bios)...

So you would have to look for one that uses your desired os...

Hope I helped
